The Unicorn is a humbucker that achieves the impossible – it delivers the unique tone of a single-coil pickup while providing the silence and noise-free operation typical of a humbucker.
Its secret lies in its exceptional construction. While traditional humbuckers use two symmetrical coils, the roles in the Unicorn are clearly defined. The primary, specially designed active coil is 100% responsible for capturing the dynamics and tonal character of the vibrating string. The second, auxiliary coil acts as a helper, catching and eliminating unwanted hum.
Thanks to this non-standard approach, the Unicorn is not just a humbucker in single-coil mode. Its sound is much closer to the essence of a classic Stratocaster – it's airy and clear. This is the pure single-coil tone that cannot be achieved by simply splitting a standard humbucker.
The pickup features flat-set, non-adjustable magnets. The Unicorn is dedicated to the neck position and is a worthy choice for any Strat tone enthusiast who plays a guitar with humbucker routes.
